From the snow covered hills of Vermont to the Pacific Northwest, our Ambassadors and their pups are unleashing adventure all across our great country! Our next power duo is Ambassador Melissa Joyce and her Coon Hound/Black Lab mix, Cooper. Together they love to explore the wild and adventurous backcountry of the Pacific Northwest. Melissa sent us a blog about her latest adventure with Cooper along with some great pictures... Enjoy! I believe that Cooper and I live in one of the most beautiful parts of our country. The magnificent Pacific Northwest is home to green, lush mountains and crystal clear rivers that run through them. Together we explore and appreciate the inspiring area around us.
It’s Friday. Friday’s mark the beginning of our new adventure, another weekend of exploring the beautiful country that surrounds us. As I pack up Cooper is staring up at me with a look of anticipation that melts my heart. He is my companion, together we are a team. So I quickly finish packing, taking special care to remember our Dublin Dog gear, throw our stuff in our Honda Fit, and we hit the road. It’s a sunny day as I drive away from the hustle of Portland, Oregon. Cooper sits next to me perked up, watching the country pass. We drive south; we are heading to Southern Oregon for this adventure. I’m planning to take my little man to see the mighty Redwood Forrest, the crystal clear Smith River, and the pristine Oregon Coast, embracing the awe inspiring West Coast for all its wonder.
We spend the weekend exploring. As we entered the Redwood Forrest, surrounded by 2,000 year old magnificent trees, it takes my breath away. Cooper scampers forward, loving the cool damp soil and dense green foliage. He is excited to see what there is, and he soon realizes that the crystal clear Smith River is waiting just below the trail. He is off, eager to get his feet in the water. It is amazing! Cooper loves swimming. This is new for him since he is only 8 months old and his tentative nature around water is slowly wearing off. I am so excited!
We then head to the Oregon Coast, such a great way to end our trip. As I take a long walk down the beach, Cooper explores the sand, runs down the beach, and chases the waves. Perfect.
Our trip is beautiful, just what we need. As I watch him swim, run and play, I am so grateful for these moments and what we have. And, I am also completely grateful to have Dublin Dog gear as a part of Coopers adventuring necessities!
