Love the KOA Mahi Mahi collar! Stands out and doesn't stink. I get compliments on it nearly every outing. As a big fan of the long-lasting, high quality products that Dublin Dog makes, they certainly did not cut any corners here! Try it, you won't regret it! (Posted on 11/25/2014)

This collar has a lot of great things about it. The color will never fade, its bright and pretty and unique. Its also very low maintenance it will never stink or need washing. It is also durable and will last years. Its great for dogs who are going to be spending a lot of time in the water and you need a collar that isn't going to get wet. However, its not a collar that I would choose for everyday use. In my region (the pacific northwest) there is a lot of underbrush and the belt style attachment on the collar means that my dog could get tangled and strangled more easily than with a clip attachment that would break when it gets snagged on underbrush. Not the end of the world but it does mean that I have to be careful with my pup Freya when she goes after a bunny. My other issue was with the size on the collar: with the ecolucks I generally buy large and thought that a large in the KOA would be similar 1.5inches wide but that was not the case instead it was just long. Normally that wouldn't be a huge deal but the material of the collar is stiff plastic and being only 1 inch wide means that if my dog goes to pull the collar chokes her more so than a fabric collar because there is no give in the material and being only an inch wide it puts a lot of pressure on a small area if pulled tight. Again not a huge deal but not conducive to a happy walk. It also doesn't have a second loop to put the excess collar through so any extra length just kinda flops awkwardly rather than being kept snug against the collar. This being said its a great product for a specific niche we use this collar primarily when we are going to go to the lake or the ocean and I want something that is going to stay dry, is very visible, and isn't going to get worn out from hard use.
